Aluminized Steel

Aluminized Steel Type-1

Aluminized Steel Type-1 which meets ASTM A463/A463M (BS 1449 Part-1 CR4) specifications has higher heat resistance, combined with the superior corrosion resistance of the Aluminium and Silicon (5% to 11%) Alloy Coating, provides a better heat and corrosion solution than a lower melting temperature materials. Type-1 is known as excellent forming steel for deep-drawing and other forming and shaping processes. Aluminized steel is perfect for high-heat situations. It retains its original appearance up to 900 degrees F, reflecting up to 80 percent of the radiant heat in its environment. Aluminized Steel shows a better behavior against Corrosion and keeps the properties of the base materials. It is widely as construction materials (insulation jacketing, wall/roofs of factory), heat exchangers, household thermal equipment’s, car mufflers, water heaters, commercial roof HVAC units etc.

Application

Aluminized steel is used on several fields required superior rust resistance and good weldability as construction material, insulation jacketing, thermal equipments, heat exchanger etc.

According to ASTM A463 / A463M (BS 1449 Part1 CR4) specifications, the coating type 1 Aluminized steel is manufactured using a coating bath of aluminum – silicon alloy containing 5 to 11% silicon to promote better adherence. It is intended principally for heat-resisting applications and also for uses where corrosion resistance and heat are involved.
